News from our SUFOGIS project
(GIS and Remote Sensing for Sustainable Forestry and Ecology)

The 5-th International compendium of research articles “Forest ecosystems under climate change: biological productivity and remote monitoring”, based on the contributions to the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ecological and technological aspects of monitoring and reforestation of forests in the conditions of climate change”, has been published online. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all authors.

The monitoring visit within the framework of Erasmus+ programs conducted by Dr. Anna Muraveva – Deputy Director of National Erasmus+ Office in Russia took place on 12 December 2019 at Volga State University of Technology. This event is an important element in the program’s policy on the integrated assessment of the implementation of European Union projects in universities of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the visit was to assess the SUFOGIS activities carried out and the results obtained.

The SUFOGIS conference “Advances in GIS and Remote Sensing for the sustainable forestry and ecology” will be carried out 13–15 October 2020 in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou (China). This is the first announcement. More information about the conference will be on the SUFOGIS webpage in early 2020.

The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence of the Volgatech starts admission procedures (applications, letter of motivation and other related documents) for the Master’s program “Geomatics in Nature Management” in the filed of “Ecology and Nature Management” for 2020-2022. The master students’ feedbacks (video) can be found on the website.
